Title: Part Time Workshop Mechanic

Job Location: Nottingham

Hours: 22.5 per week

Salary: pro-rate £18,135 per annum (FTE 37.5 hours per week)

ABOUT US

Nottingham Bikeworks is a not-for-profit community interest company. We deliver a variety of essential community projects, which are only made possible by the income generated by the repair workshop and refurbished cycle sales.

In response to an exciting period of growth for our organisation we are looking to recruit a new part-time mechanic to join our professional Workshop Team. Working 22.5 hours per week across three days, 10:00 – 18:00 Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend working required.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE

The ideal individual will have experience of delivering a high standard cycle servicing within a professional workshop environment, taking pride in your work is essential for this role in order to set the best example for the younger, less experienced members of staff at the organisation. We are looking for a mechanic who has an eye for detail and the ability to act on their own initiative, the right candidate will also have well rounded communication skills and be comfortable using computerised task management and till system.

Ideally, they will have an industry recognised qualification, either Cytech or City & Guilds, however training along the Cytech and City & Guilds pathway may be available for the right candidate, retail experience would also be an advantage.

Our repair workshop, sales and community projects are back in full swing:

Bike repairs and servicing:  if you need your bike serviced or repaired you can drop them off to us Monday-Friday 10:00-18:00 at 1 Ayr Street, Nottingham, NG7 4FX. Click here for more details.

Bike sales:   we sell refurbished bikes at good prices and all sales help fund our community projects. We are open for bike sales Monday-Friday 10:00-18:00 at 1 Ayr Street, Nottingham, NG7 4FX.

Bike donations:   we really appreciate any and all donations of used and secondhand bikes. All donations are either refurbished by our mechanics to sell on – all sales support our community work – or used in our community projects to teach and enable participants to fix and cycle. Bikes can be dropped off to us Monday-Friday 10:00-18:00 at 1 Ayr Street, Nottingham, NG7 4FX. We may be able to collect if you cannot get to us, please do contact us.

Free Fixing Fridays:   we offer a free bike fixing service every Friday for anyone in Nottingham experiencing social or economic disadvantages. Click here to see if you can book your bike in for a free Friday fix.

Fix your bike voucher scheme:   Nottingham Bikeworks is a registered repairer for the government Fix Your Bike Voucher Scheme. If you register for a £50 voucher, please contact us to book your bike in for repairs/servicing before dropping it off: admin@nottinghambikeworks.org.uk
