We do loads of bikey stuff with the aim of getting people to ride bikes more often and learn how to look after them too

We also use bikes as a way of engaging, educating and enriching the whole community

Training Courses and Education

Whether you’re a group or an individual, a school, business or some other organisation, we offer a wide range of learning possibilities from ‘fix-a-flat’ workshops to a full City and Guilds professional qualification and everything in between.

Bikeshop

  • Fantastic selection of refurbished, serviced and guaranteed used bikes for sale
  • Professional repair and service workshop where you can get your own bike serviced and repaired by our qualified mechanics
  • Comprehensive range of good value parts and spares both new and used

Community Projects

We run all sorts of community bike projects such as: Build-a-Bike courses for refugees, schools and Jobseekers; ‘Better By Bike’ for people with mental health difficulties; and our popular BMX Scraper bike for younger people; plus our Open Workshop sessions that anybody can access.

  • Crazy bikes and chariots to liven up any occasion
  • Bike mechanic classes at your place rather than ours.
  • Cycle training activities for groups and individuals

Dr Bike

A mobile bike mechanic service can be hired to come to your workplace or external events. We can supply 1,2 or even 3 full qualified and insured mechanics who will come with a e-bike powered mobile workshop. Call us if you’d like to know more.

We are working with Nottingham City Council and Sustrans to offer FREE Build-a-Bike and Bike maintenance courses for Jobseekers.

Open Workshop – Every Second Saturday

Every second Saturday in the month is Open Workshop day when for a small charge you can access our workshop space, a workstand and full range of tools to fix up your own bike.

We also stock a massive range of new and used parts.

HEY DEE HEY ALL - I JUST THOUGHT IDE STOP IN AND COMMENT ON MY LATEST EXPERIENCE WITH BIKEWORKS WHICH I WOULD SAY WAS AMMICABLE - I PERSONALLY RIDE A BIKE OF FIFTEEN YEARS AND MAINTAIN IT MYSELF ALTHO DONT HAVE THE SPECIALIST TOOLS SHOULD I EVER HAVE TO OR WANT TO OVERHAUL THE FRONT MARZOCHI BOMBER FRONT END SUSPENSION - THE REASON I POPPED INTO BIKEWORKS IS THAT I AM IN NEED OF A SECOND BIKE AND THAT IS DOWN TO THE FACT THAT I NEED A BICYCLE TO GO FOOD SHOPPING WITH [ I HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH MY FEET AND MY TORSOES WEIGHT ON THE SADDLE IS MUCH MUCH EASIER GOING THAN ATTEMPTING TO WALK OR SHUFFLE SIX HUNDRED YARDS TO THE LOCAL FOOD STORE - TO MAKE LIFE EASIER ON HILLS I FITTED A VERY SMALL CHAINRING AND A LARGER CASSETTE ON THE REAR WHEEL - SO....THE GUY I SPOKE WITH WAS FREINDLY AND I EXPRESSED AN INTEREST IN A BLUE GO YELLOW DIAMOND BACK - AFTER SOME THOUGHT ON THE WAY HOME I DIDNT THINK IT WAS THE BIKE FOR ME PERSONALLY THO - NOT BECAUSE IT WAS ROUGHSHOD OR THE LIKE BUT JUST BECAUSE TO BRING IT TO MY LIKING I WOULD HAVE TO PUT A FAIR AMMOUNT OF CASH INTO IT - ""THE DIAMOND BACK AS IT STOOD THERE APPEARED TO BE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND VERY SUITABLE FOR A RIDE TO GET FIT OR DEPENDING ON FITNESS SUITABLE FOR A COMMUTE FROM THE OUTSKIRTS TO THE CENTER OF THE CITY FOR EXAMPLE - I DID NOT CHECK TO SEE IF THE GEARS CHANGED/SHIFTED SMOOTHLY AND ACCURATLY - AND BY FEEL I NOTED ONLY THAT THE FRONT BRAKE LEVER PULLED INTOL MUCH IN MY OPINION - I SUPPOSE PULLING THE CABLE THRU THE CALIPER CLAMP POINT A FEW MILLIMETRES WOULD HELP OUT THERE - THERE WAS A SLIGHT UNEVEN PUSH ON THE DISC ALSO AND EVEN THO IVE HAD CABLE OPERATED DISC BRAKES PRIOR TO NOW I DONT KNOW IF THE WOULD EFFECT THE DISC OR BRAKE PADS SO ITS WORTH ASKING - ASKING ABOUT LUBRICATION OF CABLES I DID NOT DO AND NEITHER DID I ENQUIRE ABOUT THE CONDITION OF THE WHEEL BEARINGS AND IF BIKEWORKS HAD CHECKED AND GREASED THEM FOR LONGEVITY OF LIFE SO TO SPEAK - THE 27.5 INCH WHEELS ARE MORE SUITED TO WHAT IM NOT SURE ALTHO ILL CHECK UP ON THAT SHORTLY - SO.........OH YEAH THE CHAIN LOOKED DRY THO DRY LUBE MIGHT HAVE BEEN APPLIED OR IT COULD BE A TEFLON COATED CHAIN I SUPPOSE - ......ANYWAY IT LOOKS LIKE A GOOD RIDE PROVIDING ALL IS CHECKED ...LUBED ADJUSTED AND TORQUED DOWN PROPERLY - IM GLAD THAT BIKE WORKS ARE HERE IN THE CITY OF NOTTINGHAM AND WILL STOP IN PERIODICALLY OR CALL THEM UNTIL THE BIKE FOR ME IS IN THE SHOP FOR SALE - THANKS AND RIDE SAFE EVERYONE TEENY WEENY OR NIGH ON CRINKLY WINKLY LIKE ME I SUPPOSE - MY NAME IS ""MARK"" BY THE WAY - ...
